3D website and product presentation

This project brings together two experiences that are usually treated separately: a fast, conventional product website and a real-time 3D product presentation.

The website was designed to work completely independently, with no loading screen and no 3D content standing between the visitor and the page. Meanwhile, the interactive experience loads in the background. Once ready, a simple switch lets the visitor move from the website into a real-time 3D environment and back again at any point.

That decision came from an important consideration: interaction should add to a website, not become a barrier to using it. Visitors who simply want to browse can do exactly that. Those who want to go further can step into the product, explore it from any angle, move between points of interest, interact with its controls and interface, and change its configuration.

The interactive layer isn’t a separate 3D viewer dropped into the page. It was designed alongside the website as another way of communicating the product, using interaction where interaction can explain something better than another image, paragraph or pre-rendered animation.

A significant part of the development also happens where the visitor never sees it. Real-time 3D can be demanding on the web, particularly on mobile, so the experience was built around a strict performance budget. Models, textures, rendering, resolution and runtime behaviour are optimized to reduce download size and GPU cost while preserving the visual quality that makes the experience worthwhile in the first place.

This is also not intended as a template. Every product has different things worth showing and different things worth interacting with. The technology stays behind the scenes; the interaction is designed around the product, its features and the story the website needs to tell.

The result is the approach behind aecync today: a familiar website when that’s all you need, and a deeper, real-time product experience when there’s more worth exploring.
